Construction Sample Estimates
See exactly what you receive before you send your drawings. View or download real project samples and trade samples in PDF and Excel.
Real Project Samples
These are estimates prepared by our team for real projects. Client names and street addresses have been removed. Each one shows the full structure: quantities with units, labor and material priced separately, subtotals by division, and markups on separate lines.
Single-Family Residence with ADU
Menlo Park, California
Residential new construction: demolition, earthwork, concrete, framing, hardware, MEP, finishes and exterior improvements, organized by CSI division.
Senior Living Interior Renovation
Pacific Grove, California
Commercial interior renovation: demolition, partitions, ceilings, doors, finishes, plumbing, HVAC and electrical, organized by CSI division.
Municipal Site and Concrete Package
Deer Park, Texas
Public works package: demolition, erosion control, construction access, footings, walls and slab.
Trade Sample Estimates
Subcontractors usually want to see their own trade. These examples show how we lay out a trade estimate. They are illustrative only: the project, quantities and prices are examples, not a quote.
HVAC Estimate
Retail building: rooftop units, ductwork by weight, air distribution and TAB
Mechanical Estimate
School addition: central plant, hydronic piping, air side and plumbing
What Every Nextron Estimate Includes
- Line items with description, quantity and unit, such as SF, LF, CY, EA or TON
- Unit labor and unit material costs, with totals for each
- Subtotals by CSI division or by trade section
- Overhead, profit, insurance and contingency as separate, editable lines
- Clarifications and exclusions you can use in your proposal
- Excel and PDF files, so you can edit the numbers and share a clean summary
How to Read a Sample Estimate
Start with the summary at the bottom: the subtotal of all sections, then the markups and the total suggested bid. Then look at each section subtotal to see where the money sits. Finally, read the line items. Each one shows what was measured, how much, in which unit and at what labor and material cost.
Because every total is a formula, you can change a quantity, a unit cost or a markup in the Excel file and the totals update automatically. That makes it easy to adjust the estimate to your crew rates or supplier quotes.

Request an EstimateFrequently Asked Questions
Can I see a sample construction estimate before I order?
Yes. You can view or download the sample estimates on this page in PDF and Excel. We can also email a sample for a specific trade or project type.
Are these real projects?
The three project samples are real estimates prepared by our team, with client names and street addresses removed. The trade samples are illustrative examples that show our format, and their quantities and prices are not from a real project.
What format will my estimate be in?
An Excel workbook with quantities, labor and material costs for every line, plus a PDF summary. You can choose CSI divisions or a trade-by-trade format.
Are labor and material shown separately?
Yes. Each line shows unit labor cost, unit material cost and the totals for both, so you can adjust either one.
Can I change the markups in the Excel file?
Yes. Overhead, profit, insurance and contingency are separate lines with their own percentages, so you can set your own.
Can you use my own estimate template?
Yes. Send your template, and we will deliver the estimate in that format.
Do the samples show real prices for my area?
No. Prices depend on location and date. Your estimate is priced for your project location using RSMeans data, local supplier pricing and our cost database.
How long does a real estimate take?
Standard turnaround is 1 to 2 days. Urgent requests are possible, based on your requirements.
